I upgraded the 98c to actually be useful.

2 years ago I bought a 98c for my little sister when she showed interest in paintball. I took her out with me a couple times when I played at Field of Fire and she ate it up. Then she suddenly dropped her interest so I kept possession of the 98c, and sold it to Robert @ Cops911. Maybe 6 months later I bought it back for a little cheaper than I sold it to him. It has been in my gear bag ever since then and is bone stock except for a rocketcock thing I put on it.

So tired of having space in my bag taken up, I didn't want to just get rid of it, and selling it would yield maybe $50 these days. So I spent $100 and got a flatline, and vertical adaptor for it. So now I have a useful 98c. Only stupid thing about it is I lost the stock hopper and the only hopper I have besides A5's is my Halo B from when I had my Angel. So I have a $150 gun with a $130 hopper on it, heck darn thing even has the V35 Victory board in it, whoopee!

Went to the Army navy surplus store down the road from me (Simi Valley) and bought a Tapco stock and the Cyclone upgrade for my 98C. Oh and I added a bottom line to it so I would'nt have to run the remote up to the middle of the gun which would get in my way.

Definetely feeling better about this bad boy now... I actually like having the cyclone on the 98C too. though I basically just made my 98 into an A5 for more than it would cost to just buy a darn A5. But ow it looks likea pimped 98C instead of a bone stock 98C.

more or less the setup i have, except i had to get the low pressure kit because even with the valve wide open and the strongest spring i could find, i could only hit 230 fps. setup low pressure kit and now i'm rollin in style.. the other nice thing about it(other than it working) is that it effectively seals the cocking chamber so you dont get dirt and grit and shit in there..

the downside is that you cant have a stock on it since it moves the manual cocking mechanism to the rear of the gun. i would need to create a stock that attaches to the frame somehow to work around that. i was thinking of creating a wireframe stock similar to the m1 carbine and drill 2 bolts into the back of the grip or something like that

i grabbed the stealth apache viewloader that some dudes were selling at ord along with the stealth pods.. might not feed as quickly as the cyclone, but the apache works wonders on feeding balls compared to any viewloader brand systems ive used.

Well I'll have to wait until our next play day to find out where this thing shoots... if it shoots low then I'll do the FVA mod, and add a stabilizer and that should hopefully do it for me.

I'm really just planning to use this as my "reach out and touch someone" gun. I have my A5's for the rapid fire action.

definately.. m98 w/flatline still is the best sniper rifle around. i love mine, but i get my butt kicked in close quarters.

it is much more cost effecient though. a lot better than rolling through 6 pods in 1 minute with an angel or something.. basic reason why i dont get the e-grip..
