3rd Annual A5OG Reno Invitational July 22-23

Ladies and gentlemen, and I use the term gentlemen loosely, I am pleased to announce that the 3rd Annual A5OG Reno Invitational Weekend has been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, July 22-23, 2006. The event is tenitively planned to be held at Castle Rock, the private side-hill gouger field of Jefferson Company, located in the scenic Virginia Highlands in southeastern Reno. Due to a pending sale of the property, the venue may change to public lands in the Reno area, but for now, we are planning for Castle Rock.

Field pictures, and pictures of previous events are available at Castle Rock . All aspects of this event are BYO and/or free. Everyone who attends these events is expected to uphold the highest level of conduct on and off the field. Chronos will be available, and the field speed limit is 290 fps. Please feel free to bring any additional chronos you may have. Night play is availbe for the hardy. If requested sufficiently in advance, arrangements can be made for CO2, HPA (3000psi), and paint, all of which will be provided at cost, so you better show up to buy it if you requested it.

BBQs will be available for use, camp fires will not be allowed due to fire concerns. Group food and potluck strongly encouraged, and adult beverages are welcome, within reason. I intend to bring a couple of pony kegs of homebrew, and there are many excellent local microbrews that can be brought up as well by request.

Dry camping is free, and there may be other arrangements such as “crash on my couch, you dirty hippy” available. Remember, this event is held in Sin City Jr., and hotel deals abound. Just make sure you remember to show up for the game, not hang out at the card tables all day.

Weather cannot be predicted with any accuracy for this event, the past two have ranged from ~90* and clear, to ~65* and rainy. We’re, as usually, hoping for 75* and clear, so do the right dances for that weather in advance. Previous events have drawn 30-45 players, plus assorted wives, girlfriends, mistresses, children, and mystery guests .

Games generally consist of every thing from your basic team elimination to pump duels, and if interest is sufficient, may include a mini-scenario (4 hours?).

So, mark your calendars, clean your gear, hide your valuables, and head up.

I would love to go Geo, but this G.I. joe game is tapping me out for the next few months. Have to build up the paintball fund.

Ya, I love it but I am still getting used to it. My wife has the 9mmXD and I carry the Glock 26. I have found it is hard to go back to full pull triggers once you get used to the partial pulls on the glock after that first round. Never realized what a difference it made in getting my second shot off until I started shooting this 45XD in our matches.

Carb Understand that mano, just though I would throw the offer out to you guys incase you were up for some reason. We don't expect any of you, but we'd love to see you all the same.

It would be awesome to attend, but the famed comic con is that weekend which I'll be attending.
