A5 ?

Other than upgrading the barrel, a stock and/or paddles for the Cyclone, what do guys suggest upgrade and/or replace? I'd like to keep it in the stock configuration if possible for a while. Just wondering, 'cause my brother called yesterday and was looking to play some walk-on sometime soon and I thought I'd go out and rock with my new toy to get a feel for it.

If I were you, I would leave it as stock as possible. I've had my A-5 for 4 years and other than a lose hose needing some tightening, I've NEVER had any problems with it!

That is of course when decided to open up the internals to clean it then I couldn't put it back together again and the shop I took it too didn't do it good either so now my gun sucks lol. I regret so much opening up gun and messing with the internals.

I have not upgraded a single thing to my gun (expect barrel and going HPA) and its never failed me. I have noticed that the more you mess with it, the more likely ppl seem to encounter problems.

Hey G'man if your gun needs a once over I can do it at the next game.

As far as an A5 goes...changing the barrel is the best move, especially if its a lapco big shot(im a big fan of lapco). Its been the best barrel out of all the barrel systems I have trie over the years. The second thing I woudl do it go to metal parts on the cyclone feed system. It will make your gun run smoother and be able to shoot faster without any malfunctions. Tech T has some good stuff, but again...Lapco makes awsome internal upgrades and thier customer service is top notch...so squishy paddles and a metal ratchet and your set

A5 upgrades

Yeah, I would recommend a barrel that is not stock. I like LAPCO because the barrel is sexy smooth. No drilling spots noticed like on the stock barrel. Keep with stock mechanical trigger. E-grips are nice but batteries are an extra headache. You should polish the internals with SOS steel wool, make sure it is nice and shiney. Polish only the parts were the hammer and bolt slide. Upgrade to a metal powertube, any brand will do. The plastic one will break eventually. That is all i can think of now that is on the cheap side.

Hold up!!! Dont use anything to polish the internals that might take metal off. No mater how minut. This things are not made to very exact or tight tolerances but if you take off any metal shaving on the inside you will not get the air seal between the bolt and metal casing.

I rocommend using a paint remover on a rag. When the excess paint is gone. Use Flitz or some other kind of liquid no abbrasice metal polish to make it pertty... This really doesnt have a improved performance on the A5 other than it operates a little smoother and the parts slide out a bit easier.

Thanks for the info. I went out last weekend and tried out the A5. While it did seem to get fewer shots on the 16oz, I'll need to play a little more with it to see, I loved the fact that I did'nt have to deal with a jam in the hopper. I may have to get a Cyclone for my 98 now.

Lito, right now, I don't intend to polish it. I also do intend to keep as stock as possible.
