for those of you interested, woot.com has a deal today(12/27) for gen1 nightvision monoculars. 84.99.

to be honest, im going to sell mine probably(different brand), but gen1 could definitely be useful for base security or from a static position. for recon/maneuvers, it's not worth the trouble.

mine also had no magnification(though i can apparently purchase lenses that have it). the ones available for the 84.99 price have 2x and 3.2x depending on which one you get
