General question here, do people prefer a single ear or both ears for comms?

I haven't tried both, but I don't think I'd want to cover both ears and nerf when I'm trying to hear charlie in the bush
Boom mic is better than I thought but i did like the earpiece and mic setup.

Mic I like the single earmuff.

i have been running a Baofeng UV_5RE plus with throat mic and PTT and omg I love it very useful and surprisingly not a bank breaker as far as price is concerned

Don't make any adjustments to it. I have freqs we're going to use on the UHF side so all the teams can have comms on the B channel (TACNET) and we'll put squad on the A channel (REGNET). It's an easy punch in of the numbers and lock button.

Zen is there a way to increase reception for some reason the reception was very limited and also when I used the radios out in the desert the distance for reception was very short. Is there certain channels that are more powerful if so is there a cheat sheet out there?

What frequencies? The stock antenna is crap. Personally I like Diamond antennas, but those damn things are EXPENSIVE!
