blackjack/winmobile tweaks

i forgot who i was talking to about the blackjack, but here are a few tweaks to set just to Edge network.. saves some battery life and generally better coverage of the edge network helps when your phone keeps switching.

First: Unlock phone with SDAUnlock.

Then disconnect data: data disconnect: disable the data from Wireless Manager -> Menu -> Disconnect Cellular Data

create a shortcut in your start menu when tethered to the pc:
1) Connect to the BJ with ActiveSync (USB)
2) Explore the device (on your pc)
3) Go to /Windows, and find AdminSettings.exe
4) Right click, and create a shortcut
5) Open up another exploration window to /Windows/Start Menu
6) Drag the newly created shortcut (at the bottom of all your files in /Windows) to the Start Menu folder.

Also set a shortcut for BandSel.exe.

Run adminsettings, select network, select network mode, select gsm, hit okay and cancel out. then run bandsel and select gsm850(penetrates walls better than gsm1900, which is better outdoors).

should work from there.

to undo, select auto in the menus i gave you
