I still say go with a 9.6v 1600mAh Mini Type Battery (Ni-MH) over a LiPo battery of equivalent specs. The reason being is that most hobby shops have the Ni-MH chargers for much cheaper than the LiPo ones. That way you can put together a nice charging port and use a RC charger to charge the battery, and even in a pinch us a wall-wart to charge.

Props to the engineering and fabrication!

Just lessons learned from life I employ working on this project.
Drafting class (mechanical and architectural) I took in high school was a life long lesson. Hours watching my father build a total of 3x ultralights from a kit, which includes aluminum fabrication, electrical, and assembly. I actually learned a LOT from my father. . . I love my dad.

Project on hold indefinitely.

Had to move to Arizona and left my project in California. As soon as I get situated and get my unfinished project from home and bring it back to my new Fire Base, then I can start working on it again.

Anybody have experience brazing aluminum? I am having structural integrity problems with my box mag with the pop rivets. I am thinking about using a combination of the pop rivets to get the structural shape and brazing for a more solidness. My project is at a standstill since the beginning of this year. I seem to not be able to get past the structural integrity problem and have been drafting solutions to this with no success.

I can get the aluminum low temp brazing rods at Harbor Freight for $17. I have also reviewed "how to braze aluminum" on youtube and the nets but personal experience is more than welcomed.
